The former Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Wales, Dr Ruth Hussey, has been appointed to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) as a Board member for Wales and Chair of the Welsh Food Advisory Committee.
Dr Hussey (pictured above) who retired as Welsh CMO in April this year, will serve an initial three-year term with FSA.
“Dr Hussey’s deep expertise in public health is an essential skill for our Board,” said FSA chair Heather Hancock. “She also brings wide insight into the particular food interests and needs of the people of Wales.”
