The hunt has begun for the brightest and best in the industry, following the launch of the inaugural National Egg & Poultry Awards.

A new awards scheme for 2018, and backed by the British Poultry Council (BPC) and British Egg Industry Council, the Awards will honour and reflect achievement, excellence and best practice in the sector; while also promoting the egg and poultry industry as a career choice and providing a networking opportunity for the sector to come together.

A judging panel comprised of a team of highly respected industry figures will assess entrants against a rigorous criteria across 12 categories. With significant prize money on offer, the winners will be named at a glittering ceremony at London’s prestigious Royal Garden Hotel on Tuesday, June 26.

Winners will also be featured in extensive coverage of the event and post-awards interviews at www. poultrynews.co.uk and in Poultry Business.

Simon Lewis, Poultry Business publisher, said: “We are delighted to launch the first National Egg & Poultry Awards. “There are numerous challenges facing the industry, from post-Brexit labour shortages, to antibiotic reduction targets and the risks posed by avian influenza. Yet, there are some wonderful achievements and successes achieved by producers and processors.

“These awards are an opportunity to recognise and honour those who are pushing the industry to new heights.” BPC chairman Richard Griffiths added: “We need to champion British food, and it’s important that we acknowledge the talent, skills, and downright hard work it takes to feed the nation. We have fantastic people and great companies in our industry and these awards give them the chance to be recognised for the brilliant job they do.”

The National Egg & Poultry Awards 2018 will take place on Tuesday June 26, at the Royal Garden Hotel, London. The event will comprise a three-course gala dinner at the Royal Garden Hotel, with pre-dinner drinks and table wine. There will be a full awards presentation with a celebrity host, to be announced.
