Facco, the poultry equipment supplier, is to open its first free-range farm in the country, and hosting an open day on 6 August so farmers and industry professionals can see it for themselves.
The new site, based in Castle Douglas, Scotland, houses 32,000 birds within Facco’s high welfare CASA system.
The flock has access to 40 acres of pasture and tree cover, designed to provide the birds with the highest of welfare standards whilst allowing farmers to meet the demand for sustainable poultry farming.
The Farm Open Day will give visitors a chance to explore the installation up close and speak directly with the Facco team from Italy, as well as UK country manager Chris Dickinson, who has two decades of poultry industry experience.
“This is a great opportunity for British farmers to see what’s possible within the poultry market,” said Dickinson. “Whether you’re new to poultry, or looking to scale up, this open day is the perfect opportunity to show how performance, welfare and long term viability can work hand in hand.”
If you’re interested in attending the open day, please confirm your place by 31 July, by emailing Chris at chris.dickinson@facco.net
