Pilgrim’s Europe has completed a £6 million renovation of its Potton Farm in Cambridgeshire, which it said was a major investment in its UK poultry operations.
The refurbishment included the replacement of existing timber-framed poultry sheds with five larger steel-framed, clear-span, modern buildings with new ventilation and misting systems have been installed.
A new site layout has also improved access and movement around the farm, as well as providing modern facilities for staff.
Aaron McKenna, head of broiler operations UK at Pilgrim’s Europe, said: “Potton Farm is an important part of our poultry operations, and this investment represents a significant commitment to the long-term future of the site and to poultry production in the region.
“The transformation of the site provides our teams with modern facilities that will support the farm for years to come, enabling us to continue delivering high standards of bird welfare, operating as efficiently as possible and providing the best service to our customers.”
