Annual sales and profits increase at Aviagen

Aviagen has reported its annual results for the year ending 30 June 2020. The poultry breeding and genetics company recorded turnover of £167m and operating profit of £59m, a result it described as ‘good’.

Profit before tax for the full year was £111m up from £83.5m on the previous year.

The company employed 409 people during the year, up from 379 the year before.

While COVID-19 has caused disruption to businesses around the world, Aviagen’s strategic report states it “has not experienced and does not expect to experience significant disruption. Management continue to work on minimising the impact of this disruption on its ability to remain a key part of the global food production supply chain.”
