Aldi, Britain’s fifth largest retailer and second largest poultry retailer by volume, has announced the launch of RSPCA Indoor Assured corn-fed chicken across three locations in the UK.
Aldi will be the first discount supermarket to offer RSPCA Indoor Assured corn-fed chicken, offering customers the chance to choose how their birds are raised.
The new corn-fed chicken will be available as chicken drumsticks and thighs, whole chicken and chicken breast fillets, starting from £2.49 per kg.
The trial will be available in selected stores across the Midlands, North West and South West for a limited time, but if they prove popular, they could be seen up and down the country.
Aldi said it was committed to working with British suppliers and its fresh meat range is 100% British.
