Backyard poultry keepers reminded of AI responsibilities

Avian influenza (bird flu) is a notifiable disease that affects all types of poultry. A severe strain of the disease, H5N8, has been found in wild and captive birds in the UK. Since the 28th February Defra has implemented changes and created Higher Risk Areas.

All backyard poultry keepers across England are required by law to take action to reduce the risk of disease spreading.
