Red Tractor embarks on barbecue campaign for summer

Red Tractor is rolling out a promotion throughout the summer months to get the nation barbecuing. The campaign includes the prize of a Napoleon Grills barbecue, worth £200, to be won every day from now until 9 July, consumer interest is expected to be high. Red Tractor is therefore urging the retailers and foodservice outlets to get behind the promotion to help spread the ‘Trust the Tractor’ message and drive awareness in their outlet.

In a bid to drive further consumer awareness and understanding of its standards, in conjunction with the summer promotion Red Tractor is on the hunt to find ‘Britain’s Best BBQ-er’ with a new competition rolling out across Twitter and Facebook.

Andy Thompson, Red Tractor Marketing Manager said: “Last year’s barbecue promotion was phenomenally successful; our on-pack offer ran on ten million packs across 1,000 lines, generating over 300,000 entries and record levels of traffic to our website. The addition of Britain’s Best BBQ-er competition aims to get even more people across the nation barbecuing earlier in the year and more often. Consumers are being encouraged to share their best barbecue recipes on Twitter and Facebook to be voted for by Red Tractor’s followers for the chance to win.”

The summer promotion will be supported by a high profile consumer PR campaign fronted by Countryside & Farming expert and BBC TV presenter Adam Henson, alongside an email, digital and social media campaign communicating the ‘Trust the Tractor’ message to shoppers. This will highlight that the Red Tractor logo confirms the product they are purchasing has been produced to some of the most comprehensive and respected standards of food safety, hygiene and animal welfare in the world.

The promotion is available to foodservice businesses that are registered to use the Red Tractor logo and they can feature the details on menus or consumer facing Point of Sale materials. To find out how to get involved, contact Red Tractor Assurance on 020 7630 3320 or trademarketing@redtractor.org.uk
