Moy Park is crowned top health and safety performer for third year running

Moy Park has been crowned the overall Food and Drink Health & Safety Award winner for a third year in a row in recognition of its outstanding health and safety performance at the 2017 RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards.

The coveted RoSPA Awards are presented to businesses that demonstrate leading accident prevention practices and a commitment to raising the standards of health and safety management. As well as taking home the top accolade, Moy Park won a second Gold Fleet Safety Award for its focus on managing road and traffic risk.  

An elite panel of judges made up of safety, management and academic experts consider entrants’ overarching health and safety strategies, management processes as well as leadership and workforce engagement.  

Speaking about the awards, Moy Park’s Head of Sustainability and Risk Declan Cunningham said: “To be named the UK’s leading food and drink company for outstanding health and safety performance for the third year running is a phenomenal achievement and one we are honoured to receive. Ensuring we operate in a safe and secure environment is, and remains, one of our top priorities. Since last year’s award ceremony, we have implemented further initiatives designed to safeguard employee health and safety and we are delighted to be recognised by the one of the world’s most respected safety organisations as we continue to focus on accident and ill-health prevention.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Head of Awards and Events, added: “The RoSPA Awards are the most prestigious in the world of occupational health and safety, and held in high regard around the world, as winning one demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record. Achieving the standard required is no mean feat and we congratulate Moy Park on winning the overall Food and Drink Award for an impressive third year in a row.”
