A grant of up to £2,000 is to be awarded to support a young person based in the south west of England interested in learning more about or furthering their career in the poultry industry.
The application window is now open for the inaugural South West Chicken Association’s award, sponsored by Morspan Construction, which will be provided to an applicant during 2025. Deadline for applications is 1 March 2025.
The award money can be put towards a defined project or learning objective proposed by the candidate, relating to any aspect of poultry. The award money could be used to fund conference attendance for example or pay for travel and accommodation to visit a processing plant or innovative manufacturing site. The applicant will need to outline how they would spend the award to achieve their objective.
Members of the SWCA Committee who have wide ranging experience and roles within the chicken industry will help provide contacts and learning opportunities if required, for example by facilitating visits to different parts of the supply chain.
