The life science company, Bayer, has announced that its Rodilon range of rodenticides will be given new “stewardship phrase” product labels during July in line with the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use (CRRU) and the requirement for all product labels of second generation anti-coagulant rodenticides (SGARs) to be revised this year.
Bayer said it was “leading the way” in the roll out of the labelling change, adding that it was the first company to amend all labels for its entire range of second generation rodenticide products.
“We work very closely with CRRU and our commitment to rodenticide stewardship is crucial to ensuring that our products are used in the most responsible way possible,” said the company’s technical manager, Richard Moseley.
The new labels (pictured above) will include a new ‘stewardship phrase’ stating that the product concerned can only be applied by certified individuals, who are able to demonstrate compliance with UK rodenticide stewardship.
Bayer added that remaining stocks of old label products that do not require proof of competence will be available for purchase until October 1, 2016, and can be used up until March 31, 2017. After that date it will be illegal to use old label products.
