Boparan’s poultry-related turnover almost doubled to £1.84 billion in 2025 as the group expanded its breeding and growing operation and benefited from a full year of trading from its European poultry businesses.
Accounts for Boparan Private Office Limited show poultry-related products generated £1.84bn in the 52 weeks to 28 December 2025, up from £931.6 million the previous year.
Turnover from poultry feed milling and live poultry sales also increased, from £450m to £626.2m, following the acquisition of Hook 2 Sisters Limited and certain trade and assets from PD Hook Group in August 2025.
The £116.3m acquisition contributed £453.3m of turnover and £9.5m of profit before tax between acquisition and the year end.
The accounts show the scale of the group’s farming estate increased substantially during the year, with breeding, rearing and hatchery farms carrying a value of £641.9m at year end.
Some £492.4m of breeding, rearing and hatchery farms were transferred from investment property to tangible fixed assets during the period.
Boparan said the group believed there was “overall insufficient supply of UK grown poultry” to meet consumer demand, while changes in retailer requirements were increasing demand for growing space.
It said more UK retailers, food producers and restaurants were reducing stocking densities and/or moving towards slower-growing birds, increasing the need for additional growing capacity.
Group capital investment increased to £129.3m from £113.6m, while cash generated from operations rose to £261.5m.
Overall group turnover increased from £1.78bn to £2.86bn, with profit before tax rising from £113m to £135.9m.
The expansion continued after the year end. In May 2026, Boparan acquired German turkey businesses Heidemark GmbH and Altmärkische Putenmastgesellschaft mbH.
The accounts state that the businesses have current annual turnover of about €650m, with the acquisition intended to increase Boparan’s market share in the German poultry market.
The group also confirmed it would cease operations at its Derby manufacturing site by the end of 2026, with production redistributed across the wider business.
