Global science company dsm-firmenich and Schothorst Feed Research (SFR) have announced a partnership to promote sustainability in animal nutrition and feed production.
Under the agreement, SFR will use Sustell, dsm-firmenich’s sustainability platform, to measure and improve the environmental footprint of animal feed. The digital tool provides ISO-certified life cycle assessments based on farm-level data and enables “what-if” analyses to explore strategies for reducing emissions and resource use.
Integrating Sustell into its consultancy services and research trials will allow SFR to offer clients more accurate environmental impact assessments and data-driven sustainability advice. “This collaboration will help customers navigate the challenge of feeding a growing global population within planetary boundaries,” said Hans Couwenberg, precision services and sustainability manager at dsm-firmenich.
Wim Beeks, manager of sales & consultancy at SFR, said the partnership enhanced the organisation’s ability to deliver “practical, science-based sustainability solutions” to the feed industry.
