The British Poultry Council (BPC) has welcomed the Government’s newly launched ‘Good Food Cycle’ as a positive step toward a more resilient and sustainable food system.
Launched earlier this week, the framework sets out ten priorities for improving the UK’s relationship with food. It focuses on enhancing food security, promoting healthy and sustainable diets, and supporting British food producers through fair and transparent supply chains.
The BPC praised the Government’s approach, which it said echoed its own recommendations in its 2024 and Beyond report. “We welcome their ambition and acknowledgement of the interconnected nature of these challenges – but how all of this will translate into impact and deliver for poultry meat businesses feeding the nation remains to be seen.”
Highlighting the critical role poultry meat producers play in feeding the nation sustainably, the BPC called for closer collaboration.
