Anne-Marie Neeteson, global vice president of welfare & compliance for Aviagen Group, has been elected to chair the working group on animal health and welfare of the International Poultry Council (IPC).
She has joined Shraddha Kaul of the British Poultry Council and Erica Charlton of the Canadian Poultry and Egg Processing Council who will lead the Communication and Food Safety and Processing Working Groups respectively. IPC President Robin Horel commented that the new WG Chairs are longstanding, active members, known for their skills and professionalism.
Aviagen chief executive Jan Henriksen recently affirmed the company’s commitment to the IPC and putting the five United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the IPC into practice. “I congratulate Anne-Marie on her appointment to this important IPC committee. Anne-Marie Neeteson has served as vice president of welfare and compliance for Aviagen Group since May 2011. She is responsible for poultry welfare and sustainability, and has created a global welfare audit system for chickens and turkeys.
Before joining Aviagen, she directed the European Forum of Farm Animal Breeders (EFFAB).
