Harper Adams University remains one of the UK’s best universities for student satisfaction according to new figures from the Office for Students.

The university, which is due to launch of a new British Poultry Council scholarship scheme in October, scored 89% overall satisfaction in the latest national student survey, making it joint 8th in the UK (with 89% being the fifth highest score) of all higher education providers.

Harper also has the sixth highest score from the “learning community” section of the survey; eighth overall for the Academic Support section; and sixth for students receiving sufficient advice and guidance in relation to their courses.

For its core agriculture courses, Harper Adams ranks second in the UK for student satisfaction, with the highest score for first-degree agriculture students being “provided with opportunities to apply what they have learned” and a first overall for student satisfaction with non first-degree agriculture routes.

Also performing exceptionally well for student satisfaction are food science courses, with Harper Adams ranked fourth overall in the UK for Food and Beverage Studies. The university has the second highest level of satisfaction for the organisation and smooth running of its food courses and for providing student with “opportunities to explore ideas or concepts in depth”.

The results of the National Student Survey, carried out by the Office for Students and the UK higher education funding bodies, will be used by Harper Adams University and its student union to further improve students’ academic experience.
