Elanco has appointed a new technical consultant to join its UK poultry team.
Joshua Davison graduated as a vet from the Royal Veterinary College over 11 years ago. He has held various roles working in clinical veterinary practice both in the UK and abroad.
“Working in practice since 2013 means I understand the day-to-day realities of being a vet, but also the importance of building strong relationships with key stakeholders and understanding their needs,” said Davidson. “As part of my role at Elanco, I’ll be working closely with customers and vets alike to connect the dots between Elanco and its brands, including Monteban, Maxiban, AviPro, Hemicell and GalliPro Fit.
“I’ll also support the wider Elanco poultry team with technical insight, bolstering the collective expertise of an already highly knowledgeable group,” he said.
“The breadth and depth of expertise among the team is remarkable, and I’m looking forward to not only sharing my knowledge but also learning from these industry experts who are so passionate about poultry health and welfare.”
In the latter stages of his previous role, Davison completed an MBA as he was keen to explore the commercial aspects of animal health businesses.
Davidson has spent much of his career in the equine thoroughbred sector. “Moving from equine to poultry has been a transition, but there are broad similarities between the two industries,” he said. “In both fields, we work with exacting professional customers operating at a high standard, who make decisions on a commercial level.”
