The World Egg Organisation (WEO) has announced “Protein that Powers and Protects” as the theme for World Egg Day 2026, which will mark the campaign’s 30th anniversary.
World Egg Day will take place on Friday 9 October, with the WEO encouraging egg producers, industry organisations and consumers around the world to take part in activities celebrating the nutritional value and versatility of eggs. The annual event was established in 1996 and is held on the second Friday of October each year.
According to the WEO, this year’s campaign will highlight eggs as a natural source of high-quality protein containing all nine essential amino acids, while also promoting their contribution to healthy diets through nutrients including choline, vitamin D, vitamin B12 and selenium.
To support the global campaign, the organisation has released a communications toolkit featuring campaign graphics, social media resources and a customisable press release for national egg organisations and industry partners.
