The British Free Range Egg Producers Association (BFREPA) is to offer grants to help young people working in the sector reach their full potential.
The Next Generation Programme will support study trips, travel, training courses, conference registration fees and research projects carried out by under 40s working in free range egg businesses.
Successful applicants will access grants made available through BFREPA’s Sustainability Fund; a generous pot of money from sponsors who want to ensure a bright future for the sector.
BFREPA Chairman James Baxter said: “Our role is to represent free range egg producers both now and in the future and this is a significant commitment to the next generation.
“The people we help progress today could be the business owners of tomorrow and we want to help them get a foot on the ladder.
“We are extremely grateful to our Sustainability Fund supporters whose sponsorship has made this initiative possible.”
Applicants must be aged 40 or under and either hold a BFREPA membership or work in a business which is a member of the organisation.
Applications can be made for up to £1,000 and application forms will be put to BFREPA’s Council for approval. Those selected for funding will be asked to report back on how they used the grant to benefit them. Application forms are available www.bfrepa.co.uk/nextgeneration/
