Aberdeenshire-based Duncan Farms has secured a new retail listing with Tesco, with its free-range Duncan’s Eggs now available in 65 stores across Scotland.
The family-owned business said the agreement reflects growing consumer demand for Scottish-produced free-range eggs and follows a £4.5 million investment in its integrated production model. Recent developments include a new rearing site near Turriff and a feed store close to Banff, supporting the company’s field-to-fork approach to egg production and traceability.
According to Duncan Farms, the Tesco listing builds on a period of retail expansion and will increase availability of its eggs across Scotland. The company said its investments are designed to strengthen production capacity while maintaining quality, traceability and high welfare standards.
The business also highlighted wider market trends, noting that UK egg consumption has increased over the past two decades as consumers seek protein-rich, minimally processed foods. Tesco’s buying team said the partnership would offer customers greater choice within its locally sourced ranges.
