The UK poultry sector gathers in Newport today for EPIC 2025, themed “Poultry 2050 – Strategies for Success.” The conference brings together producers, processors and policymakers to discuss how the industry can remain competitive, sustainable and resilient in the decades ahead.
Opening the event, Jerry Glover, EPIC organising committee chair, and Aimee Mahony, NFU chief poultry advisor and conference chair, will welcome delegates before introducing speakers including Aled Jones, president of NFU Cymru; Nan-Dirk Mulder, Rabobank’s senior global specialist for animal protein; Tor Inge Lien, COO of Norsk Kylling; and Rebecca Tonks, CEO of St Ewe Free Range Eggs.
The afternoon focuses on innovation and future talent, with ABN’s Next Generation debate led by Chloe Ryan, followed by consumer insights from Paul Tomlinson of Numerator and a forward-looking session with food futurologist Dr Morgaine Gaye.
The conference concludes tonight with the EPIC Banquet and Awards, hosted by British Poultry Council Chairman Martin Troop and featuring BBC journalist and Mastermind host Clive Myrie as guest speaker.
